An introduction to the new ARCAM Radia line

ARCAM has a brand-new series of components they've dubbed "Radia," and the A5 is the very capable entry-level integrated amp in the lineup. It features a slim, solid build and luxurious new visual style, with an aluminum chassis and chunky aluminum dials ringed with eye-catching yellow. But the A5 isn't just a pretty face — it offers the detail and musicality we've come to expect from ARCAM.

Class AB amplification and a superior DAC

ARCAM chose to go with a Class AB amplifier circuit for the A5. It's a reliable, tried-and-true amplifier design used in many integrated amps, receivers, and other home audio gear. A 50-watt-per-channel rating means you'll have enough power to drive efficient speakers to satisfying volume levels. Your digital sources also get audiophile-level treatment from the built-in ESS SABRE DAC.

Convenient connections

The A5 gives you plenty of options for connecting music sources. There are multiple digital inputs, including Toslink optical and coaxial. Three line-level stereo RCA inputs are available for your analog audio components or a separate DAC. For vinyl enthusiasts, there's a moving magnet phono input.

The A5 has built-in Bluetooth with high-res aptX™ Adaptive technology for streaming music via online services from compatible devices. Two-way directionality allows you to stream from the amp to compatible headphones or powered speakers.

For robust Wi-Fi streaming, you can add ARCAM's matching ST5 network music player. Or use one of the digital inputs to connect ARCAM's matching CD player or your TV.

A stereo line-level preamp output lets you add a powered subwoofer or connect a separate amplifier.
